The story of why Bora Bora?

Buckle up. It’s a long one.

A while back, long before I started my international travels I was sitting at the airport bar waiting to board my plane. My friend and I struck up a conversation with a man sitting next to us. We were discussing our travels. We told him we were going in this trip. I can’t remember, but it was something pedestrian like New Orleans or Las Vegas, cities I have been to over and over again. I just randomly blurted out - oh nowhere exotic like Bora Bora. It was the first thing that popped in my mind when I imagined a dream vacation. He immediately says - oh I’ve been there. It’s gorgeous. You must go. And in that exact moment Bora was added to my bucket list. Now, why did it take so long to finally come to fruition? I don’t have an answer for that, but I will say this is the moment in time that it was supposed to and I’m so happy I get to share this experience with my best friend.

When I was planning this road trip, I saw Aberdeen

When I was planning this road trip, I saw Aberdeen on the map. I just visited Aberdeen Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 earlier this year. I wondered if they were connected. Sure enough the US city is named after the Scottish city. So naturally it was on the must see list. I love adding these scenarios to my travel list.
